Canada Spousal Visa procedure

Hi everyone! :)

I am a Filipina and will be marrying my Canadian boyfriend this December. We plan to tie the knot here in the Philippines (in my hometown). We both have searched far and wide here on the Internet and have found no definite answers to our questions.

Does anyone here know what my Canadian boyfriend needs to prepare (documents and etc) before coming over to marry me? And what documents do I need to prepare? We are really clueless to the procedures and we're thinking if anyone out here knows about this...? If you can provide a detailed list / procedure, the better :)

Also, how would the process take before we can be together in Canada (if we get married here in the Philippines)?

We are deciding between me getting a tourist visa so we can get married in Canada or getting married here in the Philippines when he comes over. But getting a tourist visa seems difficult with no 100% assurance of getting approved. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much! :)

Closing - as the OP has a question about immigration to Canada. Not a K-3 issue (and there are duplicates in other forums).
