We just started our process for I-129F. My fiancee is returning home on Sunday and I was going to fill out all the information on the I-134 and I-864. I don't know if there is a time limit on these forms or should I just wait until she get her IV/F04 requesting the information?

No need to wait, but since you just started, it would 5-6 months before your NOA2 (this is average time, could be a bit less); then another 6 weeks average before interview. Thus, it would be best to collect supporting documentation; plus certain documents like the intent to marry, is best IMHO to have one dated after the interview date is given. Additionally, despite what USCIS sites says, the Warszawa Embassy does require the I-134 to be notarized. They seem to be a bit different than other embassies. Their web site has a detailed explanation (both English and Polish), but sometimes it's not easy to "see" what they want. Once the petition reaches Warszawa, you might want to start asking questions here; and as I said, this embassy does things a bit different, so take that into account when asking for advice here.

As for the interview, our case and at least one other that was the day after (we were in touch and compare notes throughout the process, our interviews were a couple of weeks ago), it was a matter of 10-15 minutes literally. Can't say it will be same for your case, but the staff there seems to be very nice and professional.

FYI, Warszawa Embassy schedules the entire month of interviews at a time, which means that if your paperwork is ready at the beginning of a month, you still would have 3-4 weeks wait, to the next month, luck of the draw. If you get your packet 3 to them by the 25-26, you would have a shorter wait; but not need to worry about that yet.

Also, you want to be on top of things once your petition reaches the Embassy; there is a local number (local to Poland I mean) you can call for K-1 and they are extremely helpful.

Though we have already gone thru the interview and are preparing for the move, I am still coming to VJ frequently. There are several other people here who have just done the interview in Warszawa and would be able to help.

Good luck!

Ah, I-864 comes much later, for AOS, once your fiance/ee is in the US.

Ahh, the lovely I-134, being pain in the a**! hehe!!!

Yeah, I would recommend you hold off until you get the petition approval, as you'll likely need to redo them.

The required documents for the I-134 section;

Completed I-134 Form

Letter of employment stating duration of employment and salary

Bank statement showing current balance and date the account was opened

Pay stubs (I gave only 6 months worth)

If the salary doesn't meet the requirements and you use assets include;

Home Appraisal

Life Insurance Statements

If this is the case you might want to start the appraisal, as in my experience, this took the longer time.

If the salary alone covers the requirements, then you do not need to do the assets section, just leave it all blank and just include salary and savings amounts!

This is what I included for my K-1 I-134, and it was accepted without issue.

Good luck to you!

Gray

What are the bank statements for? I keep reading conflicting info on that, some say you only need it if salary is not enough. Others say include it (but I'm not sure the point... I have very little deposits).

I promise you you need it, and it's not a big deal to obtain, the petitioner and co-sponsor just go down to their local branch and ask for an official bank statement showing the balance and date the account was opened. It was a 5 minute exercise!

I had my interview yesterday and I can assure you they checked for it, better to be safe than sorry!

If your salary meets the requirements, then you do not list anything regarding assets, but the bank statements is conjunction with income, not assets from what I can gather.

The hardest things my fiancee's co-sponsors took to get where the employment letter and the house appraisal documents.

I hope this helps! :thumbs: :thumbs:

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I'll send them when we get the notification. I do make enough so I will enclose a month or two of pay stubs and bank accounts just in case.

For what is worth, the CO at Warszawa wanted to see taxes (I had 3 years of transcripts, that you can get free by asking IRS) and documentation of job. We had bank letters, stock brokerage letters, pay stubs, bank statements, etc. They returned our pics and a couple of questions later, it was over.

Thanks for clearing that up; I'll include the bank letter plus a pile of recent statements as well. I hope they don't mind that I very recently opened a savings account and moved a large chunk of money to it.

My house is worth less than my mortgage now, so including that as an asset is basically pointless.
