Applying for Nexus Card (while I-129F for K1 pending)

Hi VJ'ers, I'm hoping to get some advice.

My fiance and I received our NOA1 for our I-129F petition (for a K1 Visa) back in May. I (the beneficiary) am considering applying for a Nexus Card... but I am hesitant to do so because I'm scared that it may impact our I-129F petition, or I may be denied entry to the US if CBP - for whatever reason - denies my Nexus application.

What are your thoughts about applying for a Nexus Card while a K1 visa is pending... is it advisable, or not?

I would do it. Can't see how that would jeopardize your K1...you're just asking them for priviledges of easier crossings. They still ask questions at the border & do random compliance checks.

I applied for a Nexus card when my USC boyfriend & I were dating. Bit of advice if you decide to apply for a card:

Bring a bunch of ties (proof) that you will remain in Canada until legally alowed to move over. Your NOA should be a good thing to bring to show them you are doing it the legal way. I got asked a bunch of questions in a separate office because I wanted a Nexus card to use to see my then boyfriend.

In the end I got it & loved every use of it!!
