I'm freaking out a little about this. Will I find out exactly what I need in writing in about a week or so?

Thanks,

No need to freak out

I was in the same panicking mode a month ago when i got the text message indicating i had an RFE.

Wait for the hard copy of the RFE to come in the mail and carefully follow the instructions. Reply to the rfe as soon as you can and at the best of your abilities. It might be something small or stupid so no need to worry.

The good news is that an RFE means that your file is being looked at and is not collecting dust in a storage room. Once CSC receives your reply to RFE your approval will be around the corner.

Good Luck

hi Jim,

I got a RFE via text message, too, yesterday. I know how you feel! It is annoying when you thought you had all your ducks in a row. We will all find out what it's about when we receive the letter in the mail, sometime soon, hopefully.

It could be anything: lost medical, wrong ink color, signature not in the exact window, we forgot to check a page of a form, who knows.

I know it's enough to drive anyone crazy :bonk: but like Cipollina said, it happens often and it will be fine. Once you find out what it is, reply to it straightaway, send it by express courier and the process will resume. Many people received RFE's and made it through the process just fine in the end.

Lets be positive, we're in the same boat :)

We got an RFE for the K1 and the AOS ... it happens.

Just supply them the paperwork they are asking for and all is well again.

The worst thing about an RFE, is that it backs up your petition about 2 weeks + the time it takes you to respond.

Good news!! I got the letter and all they want is more evidence of us meeting. I only sent about 5 pictures and some reciepts. I realize that in all the pictures I sent, we were wearing sunglasses! Also I did not send a copy of my passport.

Now, I will be sending more pictures (w/o sunglasses), the copied passport and more reciepts.

Thanks for the support,

Jim

Make sure to include where the page of the entry/exit stamp from the Philippines and possibly copies of boarding passes if you and your gal went island hopping. Annotate in the back of the photos who, when, where. Otherwise, it is a pretty straight forward RFE and you'll have your NOA2 soonest! Best of

luck on the rest of your journey!
