Hi all,

I received my biometrics appt NOA just after I'd left LA on work (now in ATL and then out of the country for a week). Unfortunately, given the economy and that I'm a consultant I felt I had to take this job.

Anyway, as soon as the hubby got the biometrics NOA he sent it back requesting rescheduling along with a letter I drafted from afar. Thank god for email! We even have a mailing receipt to show when and where we sent the request for rescheduling.

My original appt (the one I cannot make) is for tomorrow. According to the online system this morning, the appt is still ON!

I spoke to a USCIS customer service and they had the same to tell me. Basically, while very nice, they said I wouldn't hear back until I'm rescheduled which could take months. sigh.

What I DO NOT WANT is that my case is considered abandoned - I've followed all the prescribed steps to ensure that, but if anyone has useful post request tips (and please don't say I should have just waited for the biometrics, I'd have really LIKED not to need the $$) to ensure that my case is not considered abandoned and/or to get my case back on track once I'm back in LA (shortly).

Should I make an infopass appt to see all is good? Should I take the copy of the request for rescheduling and just visit my processing center? Any stories about your own experience would be helpful too!

Not panicking - yet:-) There's just too much else to balance these days to really have USCIS bothering me as much as they used to (Green card, permanent res etc).

Thanks all!
