Police certificate at Germany

HI everyone

Specially the one from Germany,

Since my fiancee been at Germany for the last 5 months, is she required the police certificate from Germany? If so, I wonder how fast she can get the police certificate? Thanks and appreciate your help.

It doesn't take long, if person still in Germany. 3-5 days by mail, or within one day in person. If you need to apply apostille to it will take additional 2-3 days. My fiance lived in Germany for couple of years, but certificate was requested by mail from Ukraine. and alltogether it took 3 weeks (including transit time). Just make sure, if ordering it from outside of Germany, that all directions (including notarization of request) are followed. She will need a police certificate from any country she has been to for more than 6 months since she was 16 years old. The only exception is if the country does not provide a police certificate (e.g. Afghanistan). If she was in Germany for less than 6 months at the time of the interview, she does not need a police certificate.

As far as I know, they say it takes around 1-2 weeks right now. I applied for one at the end of May and received it exactly 2 weeks and 1 day later via mail.

Thanks for responding. My fiancee got the Police certificate today and the certificate is in Gernamy. Is yours also in Germany? if so is it Okay to take that to the embassy or needs to be translated or get another one in English?

Mine is in German too, yes.

It depends though, will she have the interview at the Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany? If yes, no need to translate as all documents can either be in English or in the language of the country in which the Consulate is in. If she goes to any other Consulate, then yes, she will have to have it translated into English.

I see in your timeline it says Frankfurt, Germany. So no need for translation

Thank you very much. That is a big relife from the strees she was giving me the whole day. Yes she will be interviewed at the Frankfurt Embassy. She is waiting for the interview date appointment.
