My first post:

I'm from Jamaica and I'm 24 y.o. I'm in the category F1 (Unmarried sons and daughters of US Citizens over 21) and my priority date is October 5, 2006. My mother, a US citizen, petitioned for me while she was a permanent resident. I lingered in F2A for a while, got kicked into F2B when I became 21 and got upgraded to F1 earlier this year when my mother naturalised. In June, NVC contacted us requesting the DS-3032 Choice of Agent and later the DS-230 forms (from me), and the Affidavit of Support form (from my mom). Submitted it all, and after a couple checklist response letters to supply missing documents/correct errors on the forms, my case was completed three days ago, July 26, 2011.

Now, I'm waiting for my priority date to be current for the NVC to schedule an appointment with the US consulate in Kingston, Jamaica. I really do hope that our category doesn't retrogress further. I've waited so long. I would like to reasonably believe that something good will happen in October, and that, at the very least, the dates will return to 2006, as they were before earlier this year before the retrogression.

Anyone else in a similar situation, with their case recently made complete?

Good luck to you all.

Congratulations  Hey, can you tell me how long it took for NVC to approve your DS-230 form? I'm currently waiting for them to approve my form. So i'm just curious. Once again, congrats!

Hi Melz,

This took roughly two weeks. But, of course, it will all depend on the individual situation, and whether you've submitted all the correct supporting documents and have answered all the questions correctly.
