Hi everyone,I came in the US as K-1,and got married before my I-94 expired.Unfortunetly,we did not have enough money to process my AOS.

My questions are: Are they going to deny me when we are ready to process those papers because we've done it late?what are the things i need to do?

By the way i dont have SSN yet?do i have to wait till my AOS done and then do my SSN or i can just do it....

Thank you so much

If your I-94 is expired you cannot get an SSN until you have an EAD or green card.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

There are guides on the top of this page and you just follow it.. My advice is to file for AOS as soon as possible. At this point you cannot get a SSN until you have your GC. Also, if your medical is over a year old, or getting very close it to it, you may just need to redo the full medical. Don't leave the country without AP or GC or else you will have to start over on a spousal visa. It's not too late to file for AOS, and you won't get into trouble, unless you leave the country and don't do illegal work. I also made my own AOS guide if you'd like to see. Feel free to ask around on the AOS or PI forum if you have any questions. Goodluck!!! :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png
