Anyone know when they plan to update the interview schedule?

Last one was updated June 29, covering appointments through July 31st.

Web page lists that they update every Monday, but i find that this is far from accurate.

Don't worry about the interview schedule. You will likely be contacted when your interview is scheduled. You can also periodically email the embassy.

This is not a K1-specific question.

moving from K1 to consulate & embassy discussion

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

They usually update the interview appointment in the website once a month at the end of the month.

But you'll know it by e-mail before they put information in the web. Example my case, interview will be on 12 Sep but i've been informed since 15 July. I won't see my interview in the web until end of August.

Thank you for your help.

I sent an inquiry email to the embassy.Within seconds i received an auto reply with some very useful instructions.

I would like to share the auto reply so others may benefit from it.

:ot:

Thank you for your inquiry to the Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok. Please read the following carefully:

Due to the large number of emails received daily, we are only able to respond to case-specific questions. If you need general

visa information about U.S. visa services available in Thailand, please consult the following websites:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/visas.html

http://thailand.us-visaservices.com/Forms/default.aspx

1) If you have a case-specific Immigrant Visa (including fiancé/e) inquiry, you must resend your email to

visasbkk@state.gov and the subject line must contain "IV Inquiry," the case number (with prefix of BNK), and the applicant's

surname. Your email must also contain the full name of the petitioner, the applicant, the type of visa, and your question.

2) For a case-specific Non-Immigrant Visa inquiry you must resend your email to visasbkk@state.gov and the subject line

must contain "NIV Inquiry." Your email must contain the full name of the visa applicant and your question.

3) To request an expedited Non-Immigrant Visa appointment, generally available only for business travel, emergencies,

and educational/exchange travel (visa categories F, J, M), please send an email to visasbkk@state.gov with the subject line:

"Request to Expedite a Non-Immigrant Visa Appointment." You must already have a scheduled appointment for a visa interview.

In your email request for an expedited appointment, please include your appointment confirmation number, full name, tentative

travel date, and the reason you require an earlier appointment. If no appointment slots are currently available in your

appointment category, you must provide your PIN. The Visa Unit will contact you should you qualify and space be available.

Congratulations on receiving your packet 4 and interview date!

Looking at your time line,I see that it a little over 20 days from when you sent packet 3 and received packet 4.

This is very reassuring. As we sent in our packet 3 on July 7th.

We are hoping to have September interview as well. As the NOA 2 will expire before the end of September.

The experation date wont be a factor no matter when the interview date is. They understand it was USCIS that caused the delays. This is common place now.

tyrismagoo, if you are doing a k-1 visa packet 4 is just the medical and as long as you have your BNK# you can go to one of the four listed hospitals on the embassy's website. If your NOA2 will expire soon you might want to email the embassy to ask if you can extend it.

Pui sent her packet 3 on 04-01-2011 and on 04-22-2011 Pui sent them an email asking if they had scheduled an interview for her, they replied back saying no they had not. Later that day I received an email saying her interview would be 06-08-2011. Hope that helps you. I think the embassy is busier during the summer months. Good luck.

Ning answered that better then I. Thanks.

thank you all for your help.

we received an email back from them. It confirmed that they did receive packet 3 and that the interview appointment can be scheduled for you in about 8-10 weeks.

So would that be an interview date in 8-10 weeks or packet 4 in 8-10 weeks with the interview...? :wow:

"The Immigrant Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok received the returned Packet 3 materials from you through the mail on July 11, 2011. Your case is now awaiting for an interview appointment. Due to the large volume of applicants, the interview appointment can be scheduled for you in about 8-10 weeks after the IV Unit received the returned Packet 3 material through the mail. We will be in touch with you by sending the Packet 4 interview appointment letter to you by mail and email after the interview appointment has been scheduled for you."

I think the interview will be in 8 - 10 weeks. For packet 4 you do not need anything from the embassy. You just need to go to one of the listed hospitals on the embassy's website and you need your BNK#. If you have your vaccination records bring those otherwise they will give you the vaccinations again and charge you for them. Once you complete the medical they will give you a sealed envelope with the xray and an other medical information in it that you bring to your interview and that is your packet 4. Also if your medical is listed as uncompleted make sure you get a list of what needs to be completed here in the states so you can bring that to AOS. Here is the listed hospitals http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/medical_instruction.pdf.

Edit: Sorry packet 4 is interview appointment date.
