Hi guys, finally will be leaving Philippines tomorrow for Houston TX. I have some few lay-overs and I just want to know if do I need to have a dollar bills with me and if so how much. I will be flying with Delta Airlines tomorrow at 6:30.

Please share your experience =) Thanks

Bring some with you unless you have a credit card. Airports are expensive and charge a fee if they have to exchange money. They will also charge a service charge on a credit card. Got hit with a few last time I was flying through Tokyo. :crying:

Thank you very much for the info! I am flying with Delta does this mean I dont have to pay travel tax that costs 1,700 pesos? I have e-ticket and my fiance' bought it for me.

Well, I don't know about other airlines, but I have twice confirmed with Delta that the Philippine travel tax (1650? pesos cost)is included in the taxes portion of the ticket price. I just called the Manila reservation line (63-2-841-8800)to confirm again. I purchased my tickets on Delta.com and according to the agent; "since the flight originates in Manila, you pay the USD equivalent of the Peso fare amount AND ALL taxes, which includes the Philippine travel tax". So you are actually purchasing the tickets in the Philippines. As another poster commented, when you got to check in, they will let you know.

Another thing I had to do...I purchased my fiancee's and our daughter's ticket using my credit/debit card. Delta requires the passenger to produce the CC used to purchase the ticket when they check-in.

I already knew this...so I asked the reservation agent if I sent a photocopy of my CC, would that be sufficient for her to present at check-in...The answer was NO!. So I was instructed that I had to go to the nearest airport (or a Delta office) and present the CC with proper ID so Delta could remove the "inhibitor" from the reservation which would allow them to check-in without the CC. I did that this weekend. Now, this was because I booked on Delta.Com...maybe your fiance purchased elsewhere...Just an FYI.

Just take some USD with you to be safe :-)
