So, after a month with calling NVC and finally e-mailing a scanned copy of my NOA2 for my parents I finally got their NVC case number. So, what's next after this? Will I get a letter? An Email? or Do I have to call them again? I wish there's a forum or discussion on IR5s...it sure would be very helpful how they prepared and the steps they petitioners did.

@cK

I noticed you have almost the same processing time as my petition for dad.

Your local office is in Seattle, I assume you are around there. I live in Olympia.

I paid AOS fee today.

I have a question, did you send "ORIGINAL" supporting documents to NVC. I'm getting confused because I know they have to bring their original Marriage certificate, birth certificates, NBI, etc. when they have their interview but I also assume that NVC needs those documents to review their case. So, which is which?!?!?!

Thanks in advance!!!

CK,

I was told that we'd better bring copies of original notaries while interview in order to get original documents back (except police certificate, they will keep it).

But I have a question, are "copy" and "photocopy" same or different? should we bring copy or photocopy of the original documents to interview?

Bring original supporting documents for the interview will be the best choice.

If NVC requires original documents, they will ask you so. Otherwise, they will say "a copy of ...".
