My fiance had her medical today and apparently all of the other people there were discussing that their interviews were all scheduled for Montreal, despite them being local to Vancouver. If this is true, this isn't the end of the world but it does kind of throw a wrench in travel plans we have been making for Vancouver. Has anyone else heard anything about this? I find it kind of hard to believe but she said three different people there said the same thing.

I have seen it on VJ happen a few times where a Vancouver local was sent to Montreal instead.

In that event you just contact Montreal and contact Vancouver and tell them you want it switched.

Was your fiance sure they were K1 visa applicants, and not IR-1/CR-1 visa applicants where Montreal is the only consulate that does those visas?

She's not sure, but that seems like a logical explanation! Thank you very much!

I had my file transferred to Vancouver from Montreal. If hers gets sent to Montreal she just needs to email both with case number, name, etc and ask Montreal to forward to Vancouver and let Vancouver know you've emailed Montreal about forwarding to them. It took a little extra time to get it sent but was much quicker to get an interview date at Vancouver.
