NBI clearance

hi everyone!

im preparing my documents for my interview while still awaiting my NOA2.

i'm curious if i would need 2 separate NBI clearance since I was also known for another name when I was married before.

i'm thinking they might require me to present an NBI clearance for my current name and my former name (with my ex-husband's surname).

it might sound a bit stupid, but it's better to be sure than sorry and have my visa approval delayed because of a missing document.

if anyone has an experience on this or know anyone with the same situation, please do share.

THANKS A LOT!

get it now.

My Rina did not get one under her first husbands name since she never used the name anywhere. he died so we did not get much of the documentyation we should have and so far it has delayed things 4 weeks on July 15th.

Take a serious look at all your documents that you have or may need. We listened to others and came up short.

The interview was short and sweet and was not an issue until the married name was there and not the NBI showing she had one under that name.

Thanks for the quick reply! :)

So when I go for the interview I need to bring 2 NBI certificates - one with my current name and one with my former married name. Is that correct?

I'm glad there are people like you out there who are willing to share their experience. It helps others avoid future hassle. Thanks again!

The NBI clearance that my wife took with her to the interview at the Embassy was a single document that indicated that her clearance was run under both her previous married name, her maiden name, as well as a couple of permutations of her names (e.g., switching the middle and last names).

Take care and God bless!

... suggest you just apply for one clearance ...

... make sure you indicate your other name under "also known as" or "alias" ...

... you will be fine ...

I got mine with an AKA on it. One NBI with both names listed. I went to get it first at a satellite office in Alabang but wasn't able to secure one because they told me i had to get it at the main office (NBI taft). If you don't get a hit you can get it the same day so i suggest go get one now just in case.
