So, I sent my I-130 in and got an NOA (I-797 ??) back within a few days. It had no instruction on it as to what the next step was or what they were doing...nothing...so I called the service center and they said to send the I-129F packet in to the address on the bottom of the NOA (which was the Vermont Service Center). Now I'm thinking this is incorrect. Should I have waited for another NOA? Is another document coming my way from them with instructions? So, I called again today and they said that if it was premature then not to worry, it shouldn't cause any problems, and that they will hold it on file until they need it. Basically they have no straight answer for me. I thought I had it all straight but now I'm confused and I don't want to screw it up. Any suggestions? Guidance? PLEASE HELP!!!

No the NOA1 is the letter saying they have your petition. You did it correctly. Had you waited for aproval notice of the I-130 you would of filed a CR-1 not a K-3.

But you should of filed the CR-1 instead anyways way more benefits than K-3.

CR_1 IS the I-130..... you are not familiar with a form you sent in for a spousal visa? Go read the guides...

You need to understand the process before you send anything to anyone. Read the guides here at this site.

I thought the only one I could file was the K# visa...but from what I've read it appears I can go the K3 route or the CR1 route. The CR1 has more benefits I can see....but is it too late now for me to send that in?
