I can't say whether this is good or bad. Did print out that check list that was new to me, didn't have that for my wife. Checked the box for the five year for my stepdaughter, and highlighted the required evidence. Application with check paper clipped to it, that check list, followed by the highlighted evidence. Which in her case was practically nothing.

Maybe that is was made her IO question her about proof of payment of minor traffic violations, maybe not.

Another head of us friend in Milwaukee had a long delay as he didn't add his wife to his home deed. He went in with her and showed them a letter from his bank stating he would have to have his home refinanced at considerable cost, new interest rates were high back then. Then copies of Wisconsin state statues stating with or without he name on it, divorce laws, she would would get half of it anyway.

Since my home is paid off, couldn't get that letter from my bank, and didn't want to argue Wisconsin state laws, so added my wifes' name with a quit claim deed. I became friends with the register of deeds in my county. She told me attorneys charge 500 bucks for this service. No reason why I couldn't do this myself, just basically transferring the deed from myself to myself and wife, the rest of the deed remains exactly the same. But she said the real problem is finding the forms, she also told me these attorneys make many mistakes in that simple copy process.

Well, I found the forms, typed them out myself and signed them, also had to fill out a rather confusing state IR tax form, no taxes, in this kind of transfer. It is official with her stamp, and gave her the source of the forms for many others in the same boat. She really thanked me for that. Ha, my wife didn't like her name on our property tax bill, but said, don't blame me, blamed the USCIS for that.

Was rare to meet a woman that I have always fully trusted, certainly enough women in the USA that would love to marry a guy just to clean him out. LOL, since we can't have kids, we did buy a dog together, IO laughed at the as a form of evidence.

Hello all -- Nick (UK) and Nora (US) here. Nick's just starting the naturalization process -- has been a permanent res. for about 3 years now. :) Have been married since Dec. 04 -- came on K1 visa. :) 6 years and two kids later, looking into making next big step. Would make things easier. We are in Ohio -- just recently relocated from Wisconsin... wondering if there's anyone else in north east ohio area? From the stuff posted here, it pretty much looks like we have to send all the same paperwork that we had to send for visa and green card (which we have all together), but it looks pretty straight forward. How is it going for everyone? Will probably post questions as they come along. :) Just wanted to introduce ourselves and say hello. :)

Having kids with your US citizen spouse is extremely great evidence, ha, bring you spouse and the kids along. What makes that an extra long day for me, is the Mall of America, wife and stepdaughter go crazy in there. I would too, if they sold machine tools, car parts, but last time, found Dora the Explorer and Swiper the Fox dolls for my granddaughter. OH MAN!!!

lol, yeah, kids are pretty good proof that you are living together as a couple. :) I suppose the fact that when he had his first interview for his conditional residency, i was heavily pregnant with our first son -- our IO barely even looked at our paperwork. Since we are in Ohio now, we'll probably go to the zoo with the kids or something ... i'm assuming we'll go to Cleveland.
