Warnings over the next few days of high temperatures and humidity levels have spurred Central Jersey officials to remind residents -- especially senior citizens -- that cooling centers have been established in various locations.

On Tuesday, officials in at least two Middlesex County towns announced the establishment of cooling centers for residents, while Somerset County is using seven senior centers as cooling sites.

An added bonus to the seniors coming in to beat the heat is that some of them become regulars.

My town has that. A bus for seniors (55+). Free of cost. Picks them up at home and drops off at the senior center and back.

And they eat free at the senior center too.
