I just wanted to share my story with my AOS regarding my medical in the package.

I printed out all the forms, and when it came to the medical one, yeah, I printed it out, filled out the first part and submitted the pages blank. Its what I thought I was supposed to do. I was wrong, and alot of people are getting conflicted information. I still dont have the right answer. Some say, dont send anything in as the medical is done with the K1, others say to take your vacc. records and have a civil servant fill it out. I did niether, and I got an RFE for it. I have other postings on this topic because the letter I got back said that my medical showed a date of over a year ago. This wasnt true though. I knew the worst case scenario was another medical, and I was willing to do this, like my husband said, if its only another $200 that isnt so bad to get this petition done. But I wanted to try to not have to do that.

Someone said in a previous posting of mine, that because the OAS is an across the board petition, some people do have the medical done after they arrive, but a K1 has it done in their home country. Also that because of the K1 package, that would contain all the records, that someone had to go to find that folder and match it up to the AOS, instead of having everything they needed at their finger tips.

I rebutled the RFE with the emails from the US consulate showing my interview date, with Wokings rules and regulations that they will not do a medical until pkg 4 is confirmed. Emails from Woking proving my medical date. A typed letter explaining what I had to do and when and how. I did everything I could to prove that there was no way possible that my medical date was over a year ago, and that it was clearly a clerical error. I think all in all, I submitted 9 pages.

Even with all the proof I sent, I knew that I might have to get another medical, and I was prepared for it.

However today I checked the petition, and its been moved to CSC !!!

Oh happy days :)

Im still not sure what the proper proceedure is here with the initial AOS from the K1 in regards to the medical paperwork, I just know that this did work for me and I wanted to share.

Well good for you! I took the easy way out and redid it. Sent my RFE back two days after I got it, and got approved 3 weeks later. Spent $120 out-of-pocket for my new medical (I was able to get my health insurance to pay for the syphilis and TB test, yay!) and it was just not worth the hassle for me to argue with them. I was in a great hurry to get my GC since I need it to enroll for school. Good for you though! And goodluck! :)
