Hi im Angelique.

Sorry if this is totally the wrong spot to put this, i havent really used this site much.

But, My boyfriend and i met a year ago online, May 5, 2010. We didnt get to meet until June 14, 2011 :) Im currently in Dominican Republic, from the United states. Ive been here for about a month.

Ive got so many questions flowing through my head, im not even sure how to ask. Well we are planning to get married, i want him to come to my country with me (United States), Although my mom wants to see the wedding, just as well as his parents, can somebody give me any advice about this? Anybody experience this?

Also, we arent married yet, and everything so should we wait to get married, what other type of visa should we look upon?

I may be pregnant, will they let him come if im pregnant? Or will they just deny him anyways?

What are my chances?

Sorry for me blabering, but i just need some type of answer.

please and thank you.

Hi im Angelique.

You can choose two different paths with their different advantages and disadvantages. You can file a petition for a fiance visa or go back to see him, marry him, and then come back the the US to file for him as a spouse (Form I-130). Read on this at the top link of the page that says "Guides."

I may be pregnant, will they let him come if im pregnant? Or will they just deny him anyways? What are my chances?

Your pregnancy will not affect the decision to approve or deny a petition or approve or deny a visa. If your baby were to be born before the visa is granted, in your affidavit of support you would have to add a person to your household and still be able to sponsor your fiance or husband. Consult your doctor ASAP.

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

The first thing you need to do is read the guides Here

This site and the members are great at answering questions but they cannot decide which journey is the best for you. Read the guides, discuss with your soon to be husband, and discuss with your family. Come to a decision if marrying there or in the US is the best option for you. Keep in mind if you decide to marry in the US and want to go the K1 Visa route, you cannot get married and change to a CR1. You would need to withdraw the petition and start all over again...the wait and all.

Some decided to have a ceremony in their significant others country that does not legally get them married and then they file the K1 and get legally married in the US. That way both families can be a part of it. Some do it the opposite. Go the K1 route and then go back to the other country for another ceremony a year or so later. Whatever, its all what works for your situation.

Just read the guides to get more familiar with each process. Come back and ask more questions if needed about specific items.

As was stated earlier, your pregnancy will not affect the decision either way.

I'd recommend marrying in the Dominican Republic. Your mom will be able to get a visa to the DR much easier than his family will be able to get visas to visit the US. After you're married then come back to the US and file a spousal visa petition for him.

I'd also recommend waiting a little while before you get married. You only met face-to-face last month.
