I just got my NOA2, and it said it was being sent to Bogota Colombia, i am excited but i thought i had another month to get things togeather, i need help from anyone whos been here before especially in Colombia, recently i have allot of questions.

1. becuase on the fourm it send it was being sent to Bogota, not NVC, do i need to call NVC.

2. the date it was mailed was july 5th, when should i attempt to contact bogota?

I have a question about the I-134 Affidavit, i am in the process of company letter and pay stubs, and bank letter is this all i need?

All i have our copies of my Tax return 1055, and 2555EZ from my CPA is that enough? or are offical tax transcrips required from IRS? Are these required at the embassy in Bogota for K-1 or just over kill?

Whats the interview like? can i go with my gal? will they let me in? any advice will help allot thank you.

You only need to call the NVC if you want to see if your K-1 packet has arrived (which takes about 3-4 days) then a few days later (2-3) call NVC again to see if the K-1 packet has been sent to Bogota. At that time ask them for the BGT# which should be BGT2011??????. Then when the packet arrives at the embassy (about 3days) e-mail them packet #3 which you can get on-line at the US Colombia Embassy site. Always use the BGT# when dealing with the embassy in Bogota.

I-134 you need a Company letter for each applicant applying for the visa and an I-134 for each applicant as well....so if she has a child the coming you need 2 letters and 2 I-134's. Tax returns and W-2's (you can use copies of the tax returns you filed with the IRS)for 3 years, last months bank statements 3 months is better.

Can you go with your gal.... the answer is yes or better yet hell yes you better. Though it is not a requirement you can pretty much figure with K-1 visas in Bogota if you do not go you increase your chances of them telling her for you to show up at a later date and putting your application on hold about 75% of the time. Before they did not tell you but this is what is now written in the K-1 appointment packet#4

"Your American fiancée is not required to be present at the interview, but the consular officer may recommend that they come to the Embassy for an additional interview at a future date." :yes:

The interview is nerve racking and takes most of the day waiting around. Get their at 545 and you may get out by noon. Don't get there after 600am. It's cold rainy and and Bogota is not cheap. Read the interviews about people's experiences on the forum....you shoud get and idea...there are a few from June posted. :thumbs:

Hope I helped..... :help::dance:
