I am really confused, my Packet 3 asks for form W-2 and form 1040.

I am the beneficiary, my fiance has the W-2 form and the tax transcript from last year that he requested from IRS, does the tax transcripts reeplace form 1040? If it does not where can we get a copy of the form 1040??

I'm alittle Confused to as to what you are saying. If the Petitioner has a transcript for 2010 that is good. If he don't have a transcript then 2010 1040's and W-2's will be fine. (Transcripts are preffered)

You are fine with the tax transcripts. I was the opposite, had only my fiance's W2 and 1040 forms. But I was informed that the transcript says everything those forms say anyway. :)

Yeah i know that the TAX TRANSCRIPTS are better than the form 1040, but my embassy specifically requests

form 1040, and my question is how long will it take to get an exact copy of the past tax return from IRS?..

My fiance already has the TAX TRANSCRIPTS, and he got them in one week but i was reading that getting a copy of you Tax return from IRS cant take up to 2 months..

I was readind your timeline and I was wondering in how long did u get a copy of your tax return from the IRS?

My fiance didn't need to request his W2s or 1040s, he had kept them all from the last three years.

I'm confused as to what you're asking. You asked if W2s and 1040s are the same as tax transcripts and I am saying yes, it has the same information.

Your embassy specifically requests W2s and 1040s INSTEAD of transcripts?

I know other members have reported that if you give IRS a call, they can fax you transcripts very, very quickly. Usually the same day.

But if you have the W2s and 1040s ... I'm not sure why you need them.
