My friend has just been issued visa. In his DS-230 he put Shreveport Louisiana as his address. And he indicated he will receive his SSN in that location. But due to some unforeseen circumstances beyond his control he is now going to Maryland instead. How is he going to handle that? Will he allowed to go to Maryland though he previously indicated Shreveport? Will he be able to supply the new address for his SSN? When and how? He is worried! A quick response will be appreciated please. Thanks

Hi, you dont have anything to worry, I had a similar circumstance last 6yrs when I came to US with my immigrant visa, I put my cousins New Jersey address as where I'll receive my SSN and Greencard but later I decieded to go to another of my cousins house in New York. All he has to do is at any port of entry, guess he's coming here with immigrant visa, when he givess the sealed envelope to the Homeland security official, he should notify him or her of change of address, and it will be changed.....So nothing to worry about..

With the SSN you can just go to a local social security office whereever you will be and fill in the form and they will send it to that address

04/28/11- AOS, EAD, AP Notice Date
05/04/11- Hard copy of NOA1 for AOS, EAD, AP
05/12/11- Early Biometric walk in(Scheduled for 05/31/2011)
05/12/11- I-485 Case Transferred to CSC
06/13/11- AOS approved, card production ordered
06/20/11- Green Card Recieved

ROC Timeline

04/25/13- ROC package sent

04/26/13- ROC pack delivered
