I received my NOA2 on the 23rd of July. I need somebody to explain to me what the consular actually looking for as per form i-134. my total income on my 1099 is 96000 dollars. I worked as an independent contractor last year. i decleared losses on my business last year. Which actually bring my income to adjusted gross income of 29000 dollars. I have my two parents as my dependant and my son leaving with me. I want to sponsor my fiance and his two children making the total of 7 people. So my question now is are the consular looking for my gross income or adjusted income in my tax returns or do i need co sponsor or do i show my payslip to convince them i'm making enough money.

On the form from what i could see was adjusted gross income but my attorney put for the last year my entire income which is not taxable in my case. YOu can submit other assests, property owned, life insurance policies, savings, investments, titles to vehicles if paid in full, etc. USCIS is trying to make sure you will be able to support the beneficaries and they will not become a burden on the government. So, just show assests and good luck to you.
