AOS - is it necessary

So doing the AOS/ROC process is actually getting the greencard, gotcha. (Above says 3-5 months, but I have read of it taking up to two years for some.)

And naturalization would then be getting citizenship, correct? Guess I need to look into dual citizenship rules for America/Phil. The only real reason I see for not doing this is that we may not be in the US long enough to qualify, unless our marriage qualifies her regardless of living location (if we do retire in the PI in 2013).

Not trying to get out of anything here, just want to know what the pros/cons, and time lines are for each step.

Thanks for the replies!

when we filed the aos for my wife she was issued her green card within 4 months. The green card is a conditional greecard that will be valid for 2 years. She can travel and return as she wishes on this card. After the 2 years you can decide to remove the conditions and get the 10 year greencard.

Are you saying look at everyone who has posted there and read their timeline?

I just did AOS couple of month ago, you will not see my post there

I say it rare to have to do AOS Interview on K1 Visa and personally don't know anyone who had to do it

I also know at least 6 couples that didnt have any interview for aos and only know one couple that did.
