What kind of visa have you applied for?

You are probably looking at them sending you a letter by beginning of March, probably for an interiew in late March or early April.

If you want, go to http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/visa_interview_dates.html to look up visa interview dates and times. You might find your case number in the PDF for the month's interviews before the actual letter even reaches you.

Good Luck!

Thanks Pbgirl. It is CR1/IR1 for my husband. I checked the dates and he is not up for the March and no letter yet either. I hope it for April. I think embassy moves very slow.

Hi Lari...yeah, I just noticed that Delhi posted March dates today.

I thought I read somewhere that CR1 dates are set by NVC and not the Embassy. Will have to research that one some more.

If I can ask...how long did it take from start to finish for all your CR1 paperwork to get to Delhi and the point you are now? You filed the I130 directly, you did not go for K3 visa?

Hi Lari,

Our case was completed at NVC on Jan 4th & transferred to Bombay Embassy on Jan 11th.

For Indian embassies, NVC does not schedule the interviews.

Here is what you can do... May be in the first few days of the March, you can call Department of State 1-202-663-1225 X 110 ( visa specialist). They are very nice and cooperative to see if the interview is scheduled for your case.

I was able to find out about our interview date on Feb 7th, way too earlier than Feb 22nd when they posted the March interviews on the embassy site.

Good Luck,

Yamini...

Hi Pbirl, When I applied for my Husband back in June 2004, I was not a US citizen. My case got completed very fast at USCIS and got transfered to NVC, but NVC kept it on file as my priority date was not current. I became US citizen in mid November 2005 and as soon as I got my Naturalization certificate, I notified NVC of this big and fortunate change and NVC was kind enough to start processing of my case right away. It took NVC less than 3 months to transfer my case to the embassy and I am really appreciative of their great work.

I have been married almost two years, coming April is my 2nd anniversry, but since I was not a US citizen I had to wait. I am glad I did not listen to some people who told me to apply for my hubby only after I become citizen-- in that case I would have waited for USCIS by now. So smart thing is to apply as soon as you can even if u r not a US citizen and things will move much faster then. So here I am now at my final stages of wait hopefully and praying that the interview goes smoothly as well ( My darling just called me... it is 2:30am there in India and he was still awake calling me). I miss him so much. God help us all reunite with our loved ones!

Hahahah...I know how it is with that time zone difference! My phone bills are terrible because my husband and I talk at least 2 times a day.

Good for you for applying even as a green card holder. And it looks like you may be togther by your second anniversary (I hope!).

We'll have to keep each other posted. (F)

Does anyone know how they schedule interviews for DCF (New Delhi) as there are not cut off dates. My wife got packet 3 today and she will send it back to Mumbai Consulate. Also, can she send it back via courier, and if so do they have any specific ones?

Well, I am not sure how long the embassy sill take to schedule the DCF interview.

But, I feel that the Bombay Embassy is scheduling in the first week of the month. Here is the reason why i feel that. Last month, On February 7th, I called Department of State ( 1-202-663-1225 X 110) to see if they have scheduled my husband's interview. The lady I talked to at DoS told me that the interview was scheduled and the embassy mailed the appointment letter to the beneficiary on February 1st. Bombay embassy uploded the March interviews/appointments on February 21st on the website.

Since this the first week of March, I would think that mostly, all the April interview will be scheduled already.

Good Luck to you.
