DS-260 "Missing"

Hey all.

Got a notice from the NVC that I need to submit a DS-260. I had only submitted an DS-230 along with all my documents but apparently Montreal requires the DS-260.

My question is, do I need to re-submit all my documents or will they just use what I had sent in with the DS-230?

Also, what sort of delay am I looking at? Does the clock start over? The NVC had originally received my DS-230 and I-864 on the 13th and the notice was sent on the 24th. Is that any indication of how long it takes for them to process? I guess what I'm asking is, had I also submitted the DS-260 earlier and they did not need to notify me (there were no other issues) would they have proceeded to close my case at that time or do they just stop in their tracks and send out a notice?

Thanks!

Yes, Montreal is a country that is required to do the online forms. Unfortunately, you should have done your research before and you wouldn't have wasted time.

You shouldn't need to re-submit your documents. Just go and fill out the DS-260. I'm not sure if it's the same timeframe of 2-3 weeks to review the online form as it is for packages, but I would suspect so.

As soon as NVC gets to your DS-260 and reviews it, they'll complete your case.

If you did do your research earlier and had submitted the DS-260 when you were supposed to, you'd have a case complete.

Thanks for your reply!

Yah, I should have done more research. It is what it is now. I guess I've tacked on another month to everything.

I wouldn't say an extra month. Anywhere from 1-3 weeks. Definitely fill out and submit the DS-260 asap. Then you'll probably get an interview late August.

Already done! Thanks!

Late August was what I was already expecting so not too bad.
