If I do not send a letter of employment and pay stubs with my i864 will I get an RFE?

I am asked to send tax form and w2 on the NVC petitioner packet

Every day is one day closer to the end of my visa journey.

No if you read the directions in the I-864 or if your income is large enough the state that you may include letter and/or copies of pay stubs if you think they would help.

ijeme,

You may. A tax return contains historical information, the consular officer processing you visa application may reasonably want you to document your current information as it may have changed.

You won't likely get an 'RFE' from the NVC, but you may find the additional documentation asked for at the visa interview.

Others are reporting "RFE"s from the NVC for missing the employment letter and pay stubs.

I don't understand this desire to NOT send things that you easily have to hand. The instructions read fairly clearly to me, and the part that is ambiguous, well, why not just send it? Especially since someone at the NVC seems to think that the emp letter and pay stubs are a requirement.

I don't even understand the point in asking the question; feel free to enlighten me.

To enlighten you. It could take weeks to get anything from my HR at work. I am looking to send this out ASAP.

Not being argumentative, just looking in from another angle.. why involve HR? Can't you write up a letter yourself and have your manager sign it? Or hand carry it up for a signature from HR?

I guess I make up my own rules sometimes. :)
