hello , does anyone know how long does it take a waiver to be approved in santo domingo? we deposit the waiver on april 12 2011.

The last approval I recall seeing out of Santo Domingo was about a 3 month deal. Keep in mind if there is an A-file involved it may take longer.

Well you asked this question on the right day! My husband's waiver was received by them March 28th this year. I called them today to find out the status and they said that it was approved on June 13th!!! SO HAPPY AND EXCITED!!! So yeah it took us a little under 3 months.

Summer 2007: Hubby and I met.

January 2008: Engaged.

May 22,2008: Hubby and I got married!

August 2008: I-130 filed.

January 2010: Our son was born.

May 2010: Interview at US Embassy in Barbados. Visa Denied! Eligible for I-601 waiver. Couldn't get a joint sponsor so we had to wait until 2011 when my income tax return documents would reflect my full income.

Feb22,2011: Embassy Received Tax Docs and New AOS!

Feb28,2011: I-601Waiver App Package sent to USCIS Santo Domingo via airmail.

Mar28,2011: USCIS Santo Domingo received Waiver Package.

Jun13,2011: Waiver Approved!

June24,2011:Embassy requested that medical police cert and other docs be updated and sent to schedule final interview for visa! *crosses fingers*

FINAL INTERVIEW SET FOR SEPT. 1ST @ 7:30AM

Hope and Pray!

Awesome. I used to call like every 2 weeks and get sad when they tell me give them 3 more weeks. Eventually stopped calling. But I just took a trip to visit my hubby with our son and decided to call and got the great news!

It can take over 6 months in some cases to get a waiver through. We have a case on our web site that is almost a year now. You have to have patience in these cases because you know they are making an exception. Not all waivers are approved.
