Hi . Im immigrant and i married to US citizen.

My wife doesn't have lot of income since she works as part time job.

So i assume i need CO-Sponsor. Is that correct?

my questions are.

1.Can my father in law be a sponsor since he earns a lot of money?(Father in law and mother in law do the tax return together)

2.is it possible for him to be my sponcer eventhough we all live in the same house?

3.who should fill out the form i-485 and i-485a ?

im really confused..help plz !

If your wife makes less than the required amount for your household (2 people is over $18,000) then yes, you will need a co-sponsor. Your wife will fill a I-864. It would be easier if your father-in-law makes the requirement on his own to just have him fill out a I-864 as well. If you need to add your incomes together, only then would you file a I-864A, but it makes household count confusing. Good luck.

AOS for my husband

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
