I am writing this in the hopes it makes you feel better.

A few members shared their experience which was worse than yours...

They actually went to their interview and found out that it was cancelled/rescheduled but they (USCIS) did not send it out in time for them (applicants) to receive it... and sure enough a few days later they did receive the cancellation letter.

I am pretty sure you will receive another letter soon with a new appointment...

Aww thsts awful. I'm definitely lucky i got both letters. I did call today when i got home from work, to make sure it was correct as online still shows they sent my interview letter, nothing about a cancellation one. But it is correct. I'll just wait. :)

Just out of curiosity - are you receiving these because you signed up on uscis.gov online case tracking or is it to do with the G-1145? Since AOS and ROC did not have such "luxuries", I am baffled by

You can register on uscis.gov and they will send you emails telling you where they are in the process. We got an email saying they had mailed a biometrics notice so I knew it would be coming soon!

I received the so-called Yellow Letter today stating what additional documents I have to present at the time of my interview. In my case - just my Driver's License

I'm taking my Employment letter since mine is an employment-based green card case.

Seems like almost everyone gets those. I thought it stood to reason that a person would bring an ID to the interview, but maybe I'm wrong and there's someone out there who didn't and created a precedent :lol:

My wife went to do biometrics early, arriving at 8am when they open; the lady at the counter told her that she could not do biometrics early as it was unfair to the people that were scheduled that day. She asked if she could wait and see if they had any extra openings since she had to drive about 45min to get there. The lady told her she could not wait inside, and could come back later in the day as they usually have an opening in the afternoon. My wife waited about an hour or so, and went back one last time before she had to go to work. There was an older gentleman that told her she could do biometrics early, and just take a ticket and head to the front row of seats. I guess they move everyone from the back of the room to the front of the room as appointment times come up. She completed biometrics in about 30-40min. - Viperspike

Good for you. I'm from Boston too. I believe I sent my application a week before you did and did fingerprint more than two weeks ago, my online status is still at the fingerprint notice stage, not even in line for scheduling. Really sucks...

Hmm my husband did fingerprints almost a month ago (July 21) and he got the scheduling notice a couple days later, but you still haven't got that yet?

Good for you. I'm from Boston too. I believe I sent my application a week before you did and did fingerprint more than two weeks ago, my online status is still at the fingerprint notice stage, not even in line for scheduling. Really sucks...

Probably you should call and see if your fingerprints cleared or not yet. I think until your background check clears - they will not proceed to the next step...

Probably you should call and see if your fingerprints cleared or not yet. I think until your background check clears - they will not proceed to the next step...

I called the FBI and was told that my fingerprint results were sent back to USCIS the same day I did it. I assumed that it was fine but both the FBI and USCIS refused to let me know if it was cleared. I'd imagine if there was a hit they would go through more digging, or if it was rejected I'd know by now.

I didn't think it's name check because it only took me 7 weeks during I-485 from the time I dropped it off at the post office and received my green card. This suggested to me my name check was cleared quite rapidly, I didn't change my name or committed any crime through the years. Perhaps it's payback time now I have to wait extra long for N-400 since my I-485 was so fast.

When I called USCIS (multiple times), I've got different answers including: 1. my file has already been forwarded to my local office; 2. my file is in transit; 3. my file is still in NBC; 4. it's still early we are not going to do anything; 5. it's in line but we don't have a date yet

The most convincing answer I got was when a lady picked up the phone and I told her my situation, she immediately said to me don't believe what the online status says. However, when she tried to look it up on the computer the systems crashed and when I called back another person picked up he was grumpy and almost yelled at me for calling.
