hi everyone!

I just had my Cr1 interview today here in Singapore. When the CO checked my husband's IRS form she questioned why did my husband filed in his tax return for 2010 that he is single well in fact we already got married April 2010. She said, did your husband lie to the IRS? I couldnt give her a definite answer that time because I wasnt aware of her question.

My husband said, he opted not to change his status yet because I am not in the states yet. He will change it once I got there and able to get my SSN.

She handed me a white paper but she wants me to return back to her and provide a written explanation from my husband explaining why he didnt change his status in the IRS. ( And the singapore police certificate which I was not able to give yet at the time of the interview)

I got totally confused and now Im afraid that she will totally deny me a visa.

Can someone help me fix it.

Thanks a lot! GOd bless

He should have filed married filing separately... but he also has the option to amend the return this year and file married filing separatley or jointly. check the irs.gov website...it will give better details.

I filed head of household bcos i have children living in our home and i could bcos my husband was not living with us for the last 6 months of the year and I could per the instructions file this way.

Hope that helps...tell him to read all of that and give a good explanation for the filing...
