My finance is from England. Since I have the better job, he is going to move here (US) and we are going to get married. However, once we are married we will apply for me to have a VISA to move to the UK and I will try to get a job there before we move back. We only plan on staying in the US for 1-2 years. Do you think this is going to cause problems or raise red flags? I guess we need to stay in the US until his Green Card process is completed, but I don't want it to look as if he only wanted a Green Card (he really couldn't care less about being an American Citizen!)

Anyone ever have a similar situation or know of any reasons why this would be a problem?

You should probably be asking this in another thread, but I'll answer anyway.

In order to remain in Green Card status, your husband needs to live in the US. If he moves with you to the UK, he will most likely lose his Green Card status. You can't just get a green card and live wherever you want, it's supposed to be for people who want to permenantly live in the USA.

If you intend on living in the UK, then why bother going through the pain and expense of bringing him over on K-1 and then AOS? An ILR from the UK is much easier and cheaper to obtain. Skip the K-1 and go move to the UK to live with him when you are ready.

It won't raise any red flags--you really don't have any other method to have him live in the US for a couple of years. As you solidify your plans more, down the road, you may elect to have the UKC reconsider getting naturalized.. it gives you a tremendous amount of flexibility.

If you don't really want to spend 1-2 years in the US, you might clarify your idea to see if there is another way 'round it.
