Hi there!

I got Pack4 with my interview date at the Frankfurt consulate. I called the consulate to ask how long it will take after the interview to receive the visa. The guy told me that in MY case he wouldnt book a flight or make any plans. I asked why and he answered that there is the possibility I would need further evidence. I told him that I have got everything on the checklist and he just told thats at least good for the beginning. He told me he couldnt tell me anymore and the officer would tell me anything else at the interview. Im completly confused and I dont know what else I could need...Any guess? I appreciate any ideas of additional evidence/documents.

I guess its about my deportation last year. I tried to travel to the States and got denied at the POE. They suspected illegal immigration (I wanted to stay for almost three months and go back to Germany, but they didnt believe me) I applied for a B2 visa right afterwards and proofed (e.g. with a work contract) that I really wanted go back to Germany. They took fingerprints for a FBI background check and I got the visa without problems.

Now they did another FBI background check and I dont know what else they could need. I will definately bring all the evidence I had for the B2 visa and everything on the checklist...but what else?

Please help me! Im pretty desperated...We thought that I will finally get the visa (we filed our petition in January06) and now we are scared again...

Thanks in advance!

Entry denial is not the same thing as being deported, as you did not make it past the border.

Further, you were able to successfully get a visa after this event.

I cannot explain what the "guy" you spoke to meant by his comments, but you would be better served to find out the truth at the interview.

No need to worry now, until someone actually gives you something legitimate to worry about. Good Luck!!

Thank you for correcting me. I guess "Entry Denial" sounds just a little bit nicer than deportation ;) As I came back to Germany after my entry denial a german security officer welcomed me back to Germany and asked me for the reason of my deportation. Thats when I realized I got deported. But now I know I just got denied at the entry.

Well, but thats not really the point.

thank you for trying to calm me down. You are right till now there isnt a reason to worry yet. And till I talked to that guy I thought we are fine... I mean I got the B2 visa, too. I had to explain the entry denial and show evidence for my intentions to come back to Germany. But it was much easier than I expected...

I guess I can do nothing than waiting for the interview...???

If anybody has any other ideas or has been in a similiar situation... please tell me!

thanks, Mimi

Mimi,

The Frankfurt Consulate has been very helpful whenever we have inquired. Have you spoken to someone in the visa processing department? David has only spoken to women when he has phoned... there was a man who answered the main phone number and then transferred him the first time...

I would phone again, tell them what you understand from your previous conversation, explain that you are concerned and would like to be prepared for the interview if there was any additional documentation that was required, and see what they say. Can't hurt.

Keep us posted!

Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Hi Jen,

Yes, I have talked to the visa processing department. I have talked to another lady a couple of times because of my fingerprints and some other things. She was always really nice and helpful. I called her again because of the interview, but she told me that now this other guy is working on my case and she connected me with him. As soon as he typed in my case number in his computer and my name showed up he was like "Ah, Mimi XY. Yeah, in YOUR case I wouldnt book any flights...." He is really the one who is responsable for our case. :hehe: I might call again, maybe I get to talk to someone else when he is off... I wished this nightmare would finally be over...
