Why You Want the Government Running Health, Education and Defense

What's your issue? I've lived where doctors made less than they do in the US and they were every bit as competent and usually more caring than what I encounter here. They had heavy patient loads all the same. And they are part of a health care system that produces results superior to those produced here at an overall far lower cost. So, yes, cry me that fcuking river.

Sorry, I'll take being able to get an MRI in less than a week than having to wait a month or two to diagnose a problem.

Of course, you and Steven both ignore the points that our "cost" is at the fault of the Government and their actions. Yet you seem to scream for more of it.

Good Lord. I have not ever waited for anything that needed to be done. I've gotten appointments when I needed them and have received good care. My parents - both now retired - continue to enjoy great health care as do my brothers and my sister. They have a doctor with whom they have a trusting relationship and they are taken care of. It's one thing I know I do not have to worry about. My mom had health issues a few years back and was in-and-out of the emergency room for a few weeks. They approached her condition in very holistic way and she's doing fabulous now. My dad was in a very severe accident a few years back - there weren't many bones in his body that weren't broken - and they put him back together just fine. You've been fed a bunch of lies about health care systems outside the US and you bought them - hook, line and sinker. That makes you the sucker, my friend.

As for the health care system mess being the government's fault: you'd be in a tough spot to explain why on God's green earth the country with the most private, for profit elements in the health care sector has the most inefficient system on the face of this planet. If government can't do a better job, then why are all the health care systems where government plays a much more prominent role than here so much more efficient providing so much of a better outcome for the populations of these countries? You can't explain that because your premise is junk.

Everyone knows the reason doctors are paid more in the US right? There hasn't been any major expansion of new US medical schools in 50 years. As a result, schools turn away a large quantity of qualified students. Its a simple supply / demand imbalance and generally it is the AMA who's thumb is on the problem
