Hi memaii. I have split your topic from someone else's thread and relocated it to the Canada forum as you will get country-specific information here. There has been recent discussion about this so if you do a search you will find it. Otherwise, I'm sure someone will be along, soon, to help you out. Welcome to VJ. :)

Which embassy are you going to? There are medical examiners in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. Although I'm not entirely sure I believe that some VJers here have done their medical exam and interview within the same week, and some on the same day. If you do it on the same day it will delay the process slightly, i.e. they won't "approve" you if it's on the same day but if everything is in order they eventually will approve you.

Feel free to correct me... I haven't even had the medical exam yet but this is the impression I got :)

Pocheros is right. Your medical needs to be done prior to your consular appointment and you can still attend should your results not be ready. It takes at least 3 business days for Medisys in Montreal. Should your results not be ready by the time of your interview, they will provide a sealed envelope explaining you did have your medical done but results are not ready at this time. The consulate will then proceed as normal and hand you a fact sheet explaining how to mail it to them along with your passport when you obtain it. Everything will be on hold until you do.

I would recommend planning your medical far ahead so you can submit your results on the day of your interview. Mine was not ready and I had to wait 3 weeks after my interview before I could mail everything to the consulate. The consulate has had everything for a month now and I am still waiting for my passport back... If I had to do it all over again, I would've had rescheduled my appointment.

Good luck!
