Where I'm up to is trying to phone the "extortion" line to pay for my visa. Failure count is now up to 2. "We're currently receiving large call volumes, please try later".

The trick is to press your required number as soon as the initial recorded message is over. (3 is for paying the K1 visa fee). That way you only waste 30 seconds or so on the call.

I'll try again at 8:30pm or so, but if I don't get through I'll just leave it until tomorrow.

Nothing's ever easy or convenient... *sigh*

Just been reading through this form and Im confused.

We are doing a CR1 VISA but i was told that form DS-2001 is no longer used? I asked the lady at NVC about it and she said no we dont use it anymore? But it seems some of you who sent it, and were on close to exact timescale as me, who used it got earlier interviews? Could this just be coincidence or because I didnt send it?

Congrats Dizzylox! What did you ask them for them to move the date forward? Were they nice about it?

Also the embassy have my packet 3 and medical, how long is it supposed to be before they give me an interview date?

The trend (at the moment) seems to be about 2 weeks after the medical was received.

I believe susan & daniel also had an expedited case, hence the early interview date

I had my medical in london june 6th, case complete june 10th, and interview scheduled for july 29th, with no expedition. So my interview was basically 6 weeks from CC

They were nice about it. Just gotta have a valid reason, I s'pose

It all varies. Mine was assigned one day after CC. Varies depending on work load I guess, also mine fell in the "2nd week of the month" thing, not sure if that makes a difference

This summer is nothing but waiting for me. its going so slowly!
