I just found out today that my Chinese fiancee was born in a different city than what she told me. When she was born, she said that it was common that a birth certificate was not issued for females. On the I-129F, we put down Baise and from talking to her parents, it was Guiyang instead. She is in the process of obtaining a birth certificate. If we just document this after she returns Packet 3, will this be sufficient. We are still waiting for NOA2.

You should be able to correct it when it gets to NVC and before it gets to GUZ. Is it just confusion between the town she was born and the town the BC was issued?

Out of curiosity I went back and looked at my I-129F. I didn't even put a city, I just put Hubei.

Her family considers Baise as their ancestral home and it was just a mis-interpretation of what she

thought they meant by "Place of Birth".
