Hi y'all

I was here on a J1 (now out of status) and I want to know if I need to send my DS 2019 along with my AOS package? If I do, copy or original?

I KNOW the AOS check list here doesn't say I have to send it,but I need to ask for myself.Im paranoid that I might miss something for the package and want to minimize the possibilities of any RFEs.

thank you all

Send only a copy. Keep the original because you have to bring it at your interview. I was asked at the interview to prove that I wasn't subject to the 2 years home residency requirement/paragraph 212e and that DS2019 helped me a lot. The visa in my passport indicated that I wasn't subject to paragraph 212e but the DS219 is the one that gives you the specifics of that paragraph. My IO wanted me to explain how do I know that paragraph 212e has to do with the 2 years home residency requirement. That's when I pulled the DS2019, the praragraph is explained in detail on the 2nd page, I believe.

I don't quite remember as a lawyer prepared my paperwork. Include it wherever they ask for copies of your J-1 visa.
