Which copy of DS-230 needs to be signed DURING the immigrant visa interview - the original that was mailed to the NVC (and then I assume forwarded to the appropriate Consulate abroad) or a copy that I need to bring? I assume it's the original - does the NVC forward those documents to the Consulate? (The reason I ask is that my copy is 2-per-page only so I hope they don't pick on that - I hope they have the original instead...)

NVC will forward pretty much everything you sent as part of your IV package to the local consulate office.

So the beneficiary will need to sign the DS-230 Part II (Page 4). Once the person qualifies the interview, s/he will sing at the bottom part of the page (DS-230 Part I is supposed to be signed when you sent it to NVC). So even if the interviewing officer forgets asking you to sign DS-230 Part II, remind him/her.

Also, make sure you ask the question when you will get your original documents back.
