Our application is still waiting at VSC, but I am anticipating having to change the consulate from Paris to Burkina if it not approved by early July, since my fiance will be heading back to Burkina end Sept and it looks like paris takes 2+ months to process visas. Is it possible to change the consulate while the application is still at VSC, or better to wait till it is at NVC? Apologies if this has been asked already and I missed it!

Hi cardinal,

Form my humble point of view: From seeing your timeline,it seems like you will get your NOA2 around September. 2 scenarios: It can come a bit earlier: And then yes, your fiance will still be in France but thetime it comes (Yeah!!!), or it come a little later :(.. And your fiance will be back to BF by then. But even in the event of the first scenario, he will have to wait 2 months to get things done so it will be after september that he will actually get the interview. So I think it is best to change the Embassy. (Like you said..)

That being said, I am sure I read somewher you could do that, But I searched for 15 minutes now and cannot find it.

So keep on posting it, until you find the "how".

Take care.

BTW,

I don't think BF processes K1 visas.

Their K1 is processed by sengal. So check Senegal processin time to have an idea of how long it might take.

Thanks! Yeah, I am pretty sure we will have to change the embassy. But I am hoping against hope that we are one of those 0.001% (besides folks who expedite) who somehow gets approved way early - thus giving it one more month till I make the change

The Ouaga consulate website seems to say that they process family-based applications, including for K1, but I have emailed them to check. I will be seriously annoyed if he has to go to Dakar - what a pain  I don't see any other completed K1s on VJ from BF so I guess we will be the guinea pigs :o
