Police Report for Mexico

Do you need a police report for the Mexican Consulate? The on their website it states for certain countries it's unattainable and it lists Mexico as one of them. However, my fiance call the Consulate and they told her she needed one??

This has been asked a lot because the instructions are really unclear--- apparently you only need one if you've been convicted of a crime, but we're getting one anyway just to be sure.

They also say they aren't available in Mexico but there is the "antecedentes (spelling?) no penales" which is what we're going to bring with us.

also just as a heads up it's been reported by numerous people that most of the time the people at the consulate do not have correct information and it's not always good to listen to them.

thanks I am happy to have this information...we now have the invitation letter so we are making plans to go to Juarez in 2 weeks...eeeeek!
