Yep, that's common for summer fares, I'm afraid.

I'm planning a trip London in August anyway. I went in September last year (and my fare was right around $600, including tax), but I'd like to go when its a tad bit warmer, so I just may have to deal with the few hundred dollars more. But it still sucks!!

I attribute it to the fuel costs too because just 2 years ago I paid in the $600 range in July... :(

We just don't have a choice when we go though because of hubster being a teacher and being off only in the month of August.

Thanks to this thread I just got a good price for ticket at cheaptickets.com after Expedia (my e-travel agent of choice every time usually) showed tickets had gone up by £140 in one day to the place I wanted to travel to (the previous day they'd been at old price)!!

I got them for the price Expedia HAD offered them at (ie £140 less than the current advertised price) from cheaptickets.com so  Cheers!

:( Well, I tried Nova Travel and the best they could do was...

Thank you for checking with Nova Travel, the best option for your requested trip by AC** airline, and the costs would be $820.00** plus tax, round trip, based on limited availability.

$820 PLUS TAX! :o:(:o:crying:
