Hello Friends,

First of all, many thanks for all the comments and feedback on this website. This is an awesome website that would have helped me greatly early in my visa journey.

I have some questions in the hope to help speed things up.

My I-129F packet left NVC over about two weeks ago. I emailed the consulate in Thailand to inquire if they have received it. I got a reply back that they have not receive the packet and will not send out Packet 3 until they received the I-129F from NVC. The email referred me to download Packet 3 from this site: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas/packets.html.

???? SO HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS ????

1. Are there additional information in the Packet 3 that the consulate sends to you as compare to Packet 3 download from the above site?

2. Do they actually review your I-129F and customize Packet 3 with specific requirements for each applicant? Or do they send every applicant the same Packet 3 like the one you download from the site.

3. My understanding is that you can't send Packet 3 to the Thai consulate until they received your I-129F.

Can I download Packet 3 for my fiancee to proceed with medical check up, vaccination, police clearance?

Does each of this center require the formal cover sheet from Packet 3 sent by the consulate?

Assumption:

Packet 3 from consulate contains the same information and forms as the one downloaded from the site.

Correct me if I am wrong here. I don't want to have to redo the paperwork using Packet 3 from the consulate.

My hope is that I can download and compile the necessary documents for Packet 3 and mail it to my fiancee in Thailand.

Once she receives it, she can get her medical check up, vaccination and police clearance taken care of.

This way we are not waiting around to start the required tasks until we receive Packet 3 from the consulate.

Once the consulate receives our I-129F from the NVC, we can mail the completed Packet 3 to the consulate.

Any information from anyone that has gone through this process in Thailand will be greatly appreciated.

Please provide any additional information reqarding things we can do ahead of time while we are waiting.

Thank you so much.

Best wishes to you all.

# 1 There is one P 3

# 2 No. There is one P 3.

# 3 The P 3 can be downloaded at any time. Yes

You can fill out the forms & mail or scan to her.

She can take a copy of the NOA 1 or 2 to the BKK police to begin getting the cert. This can take 2 days to 2 weeks.

All cases sent to BKK are first collected by the actual consulate section located across the street from the embassy. It takes a few days to transfer the cases. For this reason the visa section indicates they do not have the case when there has been ample time to recieve it from NVC.

The medical will be done in less than one day. She will get the documents required before she leaves the hospital. She could go do this now or wait until she is in BKK for other reasons.

Ning, thank you for your response. I really appreciated it.

I would think your case is in BKK now. Do you have the NVC case number?

See the embassy web site to find the current interview schedual. Your case wont be there but you can use the schedual to see how busy they are. The schedual is only updated once a month so even if your case is there it may not show. BKK sees about 700 cases per month. Many of those are not immigration based. This is why they only work on immigration visas two days per week.

The last case that I know of took about a month to get schedualed. However there have been a few here on V J that got an interview date quicker. Probably because of cancelations. This means it best to do as you are by doing everything asap.

Yes, I have the NVC case number.

I have been to the web site and browsed the interview schedule.

Don't you have to submit Packet 3 in order to get interview schedule?

Ning, I see other posts that you replied to regarding wrong information in the I-129F application.

After receiving my NOA2, I noticed the last name of my fiancee's parent were wrong in her G325A form.

What is the best way to correct this error?

Email the consulate to inform them of the error?

Will this correction delay this process?

Thanks again.

The P 3 could be submitted using the NVC case number.

I bring up the schedule to indicate that even if you push & submit the P 3 it may not affect your interview date. You can use the schedule to try to determin when your interview might take place.

The submission of the P 3 results in the P 4 which is the interview date letter or notification.

The spelling correction can be done at the interview I think. No it wont delay the process. You could fill out a corrected form & submit it with the P 3 or do it at the window.
