If she can't prove she had the shots - she will need to get them done as required by the embassy/process.

There are some tests they can do to verify shots (like for chicken pox) - but when in doubt - get a jab.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

The entire list of 12 may not be required based on her age--the older she is, the fewer she has to take. There is a general description of the requirements at the CDC web site, but I don't have time to find it until this evening. If someone has time to chase it down before I get home tonight, that would be great.

More than you ever wanted to know, but it still doesn't answer the question directly--as you can see, some of it is a judgment call of the doc you are seeing, so no need to run out and get 12 vaccinations ahead of time.

 Thanks for all the info and good luck on your cases you been alot of help

DO NOT get all the shots ahead of time.

I just did the whole doctor/vaccination thing with my wife in Bogota last week.

1) They DO NOT require all the vaccines (it depends on age)

2) From what I hear, they often do not accept the vaccinations if done by another doctor. I have heard of cases where they have made the person take the vaccination again.

All Colombians traditionally receive a number of the vaccinations in childhood (might be different if she is from a very rural or remote community), so she might be excused from them.

best of luck,

dt
