Instructions are often contradictory. I just received the coversheet and receipt for my AOS bill. The cover sheet instructs to post coversheet, receipt and I-864 to the NVC in Portsmouth, NH. Since I'm doing EP, I know that's off the wall. Still, I want to be certain where to send the documents. My understanding is that the AOS coversheet, payment receipt, I-864 and supporting documents are sent via email (PDF format) to nvcelectronic@state.gov. For the record, is my understanding correct?

A related question: AOS documents can be numerous. Is it advisable to compress all documents to a rar or zip file? Seems like it would be more practical, but I wouldn't want to be the one experimenting with this method. Anyone ever done it before?

thanks,

Andrew

AOS is the I-864 with employment letter and 2010 tax transcripts. 1 year taxes is all that is required until the interview. nvcelectronic@state.gov is correct don't forget the packet 3 supplement page. Put your case number at the top right corner of every page before you submit them in pdf format. hmm I just went through all this. Our interview is this Tuesday. Make a copy of your passport including all blank pages. That will be needed for the interview.

I understood that the Packet 3 documents were sent with the DS-230. I haven't received Packet 3 yet, but I have paid and have received 'paid' status for the AOS. Are you saying that the Packet 3 Supplemental Information Sheet must be included with the AOS documents? This is the first I've heard of this, but I wouldn't want to risk an incomplete AOS. I would appreciate confirmation, or denial, on this question.

Thanks,

Thanks,

The GUZ supplemental sheet goes in the package with the DS230. Send one or three tax returns based on whether you think three will help more than one. If you've been at the same job a long time and income is clearly adequate, one is probably enough. Send them in PDF format only. You can use the document menu and choose to "reduce file size" within adobe to reduce the file size for emailing if needed. This requires a full version of Adobe but you can probably accomplish the combining of files and size reduction at a Kinko's etc. or just do it on any computer that has the needed software.

No, the Supplemental Information Sheet should be submitted with the DS-230.

before you emailing these , pls be sure you have alreaady got the GZO number , NOT the GUZ number.

Print and scan the BAR CODED cover sheets along with all the DS 230 and I 864 documents . ( i forgot to include this bar coded cover sheet and i'm still waiting from them after 17 business days ) .

NEVER send anything by regular mail after you have OPTIN electronics .

Also when converting these documents, when I sent them in I named the documents so they would be easily indentified with the GZO# with a description so when opened they knew what they were viewing. Example for the 2009 taxes when converting to PDF I named GZO*****_2009Tax. This is not needed but I thought it would be helpful.

Using the GZO number in the file name is good but since I like to combine all docs in a single attachment I name them GZO***** First Middle FAMILY CMR AOS docs for AOS package and just CMR docs of the civil package. I'm sure lots of folks send several attachments instead of one combined document. In that case, the GZO number in the file name can really help. With the full version of Adobe, I simply use the typewriter function to copy and past the cast number on pages as needed. I also use this function for the cover pages of Notarial documents, so they know which is the Marriage Certificate, Divorce Decree, Birth Certificate or Police Report, etc. As you know, unless you read Chinese, you don't know which is which until you get to the third page or so.

My DS230 and I 864 have been sent electronically to NVC 19 business days ago.

I called the operator today and was told to wait another few more days and then to call them back.

Then, they may ask the supervisor to check it out.

I am so worry that the paperwork slips through the crack. Afterall , they have thousands of applications perday.

Anyone has similar experience ?

the coversheet that you got in -

you'll have another one just like it (one for AOS, another for IV)

at the online payment portal

WHEN the item is marked 'paid' .

once it's marked 'paid' you'll have another coversheet that you can download

and

attach THAT coversheet to yer EP set (there will be 2, one for AOS, another for IV)

IMO, disregard the coversheet that was sent to you. it comes in with the ds-3032 kit mentioned here -> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467 and is not needed (again, IMO) for EP, at all. You'll see why, in a few days, after yer AOS fee bill is marked 'paid'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
