Hi guys..did your fiance ever gave you money, or send money for your expenses? and if yes did he voluntary give or it was you who asked for it? We don't have approval yet, coz kasusubmit lang namin, but was wondering as early as now when the time comes for the medical and embassy interview, how to ask him to help me with the expenses..He doesn't send me money, and I don't ask for the money...i know the sincerity of a person can't be measured thru money, but i want to know what the others think..thanks

Sounds like a K-1 Application. I would think he has already (sinced you filed) spent alot of money to meet the requirements of the 129-F. I send Mav money on a Voluntary basis and never tell her until the money is at Western Union and give her a Tracking Number to pick-it up. If Mav asked me for money all the time I don't think I would have even went to the Philipphines and paid all those Fees and I would have never asked for her hand in Marridge. Period.

You have no Time-Line so I can't see how far you are into the Process. The Medical and Interview comes later. I would think he will help you with the Expenses of those Fees when the time comes.

Mav works full-time and is self supportive in the Country. But, I send Money "Sometimes". Last time was Valentines Day.

Mav, does not spend this money I have sent over time but puts it into a Bank. She has through time work saved enough money for Transportation to Manila, the Medical, and Interview and Fees and 90% of that money was saved by her.

Just a thought.

Good Luck!

Hi there! You have to talk to your fiance about it. In this case, you will have so many expenses. It's time to ask him that you are just wondering how are you gonna pay for your medical and interview. Are you gonna split the cost or he's gonna send money to pay for it? something like that. :) Good luck!

In a Realistic view of the exspenses involved is approximately:

Plan On. The $350.00 for the Medical and transportation to get there. Also the Medical will most likely takes 2 days so you will need Overnight accomidations and transportation to get back home.

Police clearance: Not sure of the Peso amount?

Is it Cemonar? Is that where you watch as Video of marrying a foriener. Is there a another cost of Passport pictures that are needed? These are free as well.

Then, most likely travel back to Manila for your Interview AGAIN.

Other Members can be more Accurate than me. I don't know everything.

A realistic USD Dollar figure with me and Mav is about $600.00 USD to give you an Idea.

Approximate Figures. Other members who have been through this already could better answer.

Hi! I think your fiancé is aware of the expenses he's going to put through along the way. Did you just mentioned he just submitted your K1 packet? For that he already spent $340 for the application. Just in case he is not well aware of it, you should and have to talk to him about this cos this process is costly and lonngggggggggggg! Its $350 for the visa fee, $213 for the medical, $1070 for the AOS later after marriage, plus other expenses like hotel, plane ticket, food etc. Good luck! :)

Do not feel bad if your fiance wants to support you 100% with ll the expenses relate it to the K1-visa procedure. I am doing it and I am reading many others are doing the same.

Some of us think that is the norm.

I don't semd my SO on a reguarl. I do pay part of his cell phone bill and do send him $100 per month which he is saving for the expenses that are coming. Cuba is a whole 'nother story. Economics in Cuba are dismal so if I don't help him with the cost of migrating, he will NEVER be able to afford it on his own.

In our case he paid for the initial k1 fee, and I paid for my visa and medical and AOS, only because I was earning enough back then. But he offered to pay for all my grad school app expenses. Lucky for me I can travel for free. And now that I am here in immigration limbo waiting for my GC, he is the breadwinner. We are young and we don't have much yet, so we save every penny :) each couple has a different situation, so don't be afraid to talk to him about it. The visa fees are expensive but paying for it is the only way you guys can be together so I don't think he would mind :) God bless and goodluck!! :)@

Kish is correct. Visa and medical are separate fees.

Haha.. it will never end!

Maybe add another $30 for CFO, and then hotel/cab expenses when traveling for medical, interview and CFO. To top it off, the plane fare. And then when she gets to the US, there's the wedding, the civil surgeon and AOS, report of marriage to the Phil consulate.. lol!

The road to true love is truly expensive, but worth it!

Goodluck to all of you!

yeah I agree with them, I think you need to talk to him about it. I'm sure he already has an idea how much will this whole process cost. Me and my fiance we agreed that we'll split the cost including the plane ticket (kindda tough on my part though since dollar is higher than PHP). But I think it's just fair if both parties will sacrifice, it'll be for both of you in the end anyway. So probably you need to start quoting up all the "possible" expenses for this process then gotta start saving (so easy to say yet so hard to do blush.gif). I'm sure that you guys can figure something out just be open to him and be honest innocent.gif
