Hi All,

About to file I-130 for my wife who is in India. I have some questions on the documents that need to be submitted with I-130.

1) Copy of my Wife's Passport: Some say it's needed, some say not. The reason I am asking is that she has recently submitted it to the local passport office for addition of my name under "Name of Spouse" and this might take about 30 days. I don't want to wait that long before filing. I have a copy of her current passport without my name on it. Should I file it with that, file without the copy or wait till i get her passport back?

2) Proof of Bonafide marriage: While the scenario was pretty much an arranged marriage, we were talking on phone/chatting for about 2 months. While we have the marriage certificate, what other documents do we need to submit? Since we stay in 2 different countries, things like joint residence/lease etc is not available. I have the following, will it be enough

  • Photos from Engagement
  • Photos from the Marriage Ceremony
  • Affidavits (3 each) Does it need to be notarized?
  • Joint Bank Account (I opened an NRO account and added her)
  • Some photos of outings with friends

3) Documents for final Interview: What should I start saving from this point onwards? Plane tickets, Movie Stubs etc?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

the first process they won't ask you to send them your wife's passeport copy they will ask you that after they aprove your case .

you will need 2 photos of visa for you and for your wife

also you will need a mariage certificate with translation in english

form i-130 and form g-4511 and form g-325a one for you and one for your wife

also you will need check 420$

and citizen of you with copy passeport of you

after that you will send all that documents to chicago by ups you will find the address on the link of uscis.gov

when they receive your documents they will sent to you an email to tel you that they receive your file i130 with your case number after that you should wait for approval it take 5 or 6 months ago it depends of your case

so i hope for you a good luck
