Mexico City Police Certificate

My husband needs a police clearance from Mexico for NVC. He lives in Mexico City. Any suggestions on where to start to try to obtain this? How "official" does this need to be? He has lived in the same place since he was 16 yeaqrs old. Thank you for your help.

Really? this is news to me so how will the people from these countries prove otherwise? Is there any other document they need to submit in lieu of Police clearance certificate?

I can only speak for our situation. My wife was born and raised in Mexico, and moved to Costa Rica several years ago, so in theory she would need a PCC from both countries, but it simply is not available form Mexico (you can check any country of the Dept of State website), so we don't have to produce it to NVC or the consulate in CR.

In life almost everything is possible one way or another, but we are going with the Dept of State website which says not possible, and consulate in CR says don't worry about it. Your link doesn't work, by the way.

I consulted a lawyer and she said that they do some biometric check at the consulate appointment in Juarez, Mexico. So, this police certificate is not required in Mexico. It does seem counterintuitive that he would not need to obtain something like this prior to the interview.
