If the text and email is supposed to calm people's stress by notifying first...why do i read about people getting the hard copy first and then the email? The text and email should be first..anyhow...what happens with those cases like mine...when people can't even find it on the page on "check your case status"? what is going on...I would like to see some progress... Not finding it is a bad sign I guess, because there have been people who cant find it who have waited over the 5 months limit... Am I correct? What were your experiences? Should I get the text, hard copy or email first? Am I ever going to be able to check the status on the page?

Our case wasn't on the USCIS website for about a month. We had one "touch" around the time it first appeared online. Then nothing for 3 months.

On April 18, I got a text and email to my Blackberry saying our petition was approved on April 14 (the week before - nice "update")

On April 19, I got the hardcopy in the mail.

Some people never receive notification of their petition on the USCIS website - even months after they had their case approved by USCIS, forwarded to NVC, interviewed at the consulate, etc. It seems pretty hit or miss.

Are you entering your CIS number correctly? You're including the EAC/WAC + receipt number, right?

first of all welcome to VJ!!! Also to answer your questions sometimes it take awhile to appear in there system that is why you cant view it when you log into check case status and then there is sometimes it never shows up but that doesnt necessarily mean it is a bad thing. I believe that the normal wait time now is 5months or more so that is not to say that since you dont see it online that you will wait that long. Your wait may be longer than 5months or shorter than 5months. Lastly dont put so much stress on seeing your case status online some people even if they do see there status online never see any updates they just all of a sudden get notifications in the mail so that checking your status can drive you crazy sometimes. so sit back relax and find something to occupy your time because you have sometime to go. good luck to you along the way

I can share my experiences....I have been the poster child of what the USCIS system claims as status quo. While they warn you that their texting/emailing feature is still new and piloting....I received the text/email at the same time about a week before any hard copies came and this has consistently happened with each NOA and when santo domingo received my case. Every time I checked the case status on USCIS it was accurate...i would say if ever in doubt...call the Visa Specialist..dept of state in D.C. and get case updates after you get that NOA2. that wait can be tough and you'll drive yourself to drinks. but try to keep urself sane until u get the NOA2...thats when the real anxiety sets in :crying: we are forever waiting...waiting for the NOAs...waiting for the Cita...waiting in line at the embassy...waiting for the via from Domex..waiting for the wedding date...waiting for the green card....sheesh!!!

agree with you Mrs. Amancio .. everything in this is about waiting.. Before I started this process. I thought it would actually be more simple since I also though the the processing time of 6 months was accurate but I've past my 6 months and I havent even received my NOA2... I just wish they would give more accurate information and processing times... :(

Have you called the USCIS and asked for a service request? I really think you should call and speak to a tier 2 Rep. Also contact your congressman and dont stop calling until you get that NOA2!!! Ya ta bueno!!!

Thats funny. Today I (the beneficiary) received the NOA2 email and gave the news to my fiance (the petitioner) since they did not text or email him!

Our NOA1 was on December 20, 2010 and our case status never changed since December 31, 2010.
