Its not that time for me yet but i really am stressing over the affidavit of support. Question 1. do you have to claim your kids as well towards the income guidelines. stupid question but just asking. question 2. My dad wanted to be my co sponser because i know id not beable to make the income quidelines alone. i see that the co sponser has to make it on their own so i guess you cant combine both incomes? :( ok it would be no problem my dad would beable to co sponser for my husband and make the guidelines for him and my husband alone. Problem is last year me and my two kids lived together so he claimed my kids on tax return. So would uscis still hold him accontable for having to use me, two kids, himself and husband as his memebers in his house hold since it was last year and not current???? I am really stressed over this just want my husband over and back home :(

If your children are dependants and living in your household full time then yes you need to count them. Not sure if you can count child support as part of your income or not though.

If you look at question 21 part G. it talks about parents in the same principle residence who are combining their income. Line 24 B also allows you to list anyone else in your household who's income will be counted towards the requirements. You will need to have either you or your dad use the form I-864A. That form allows you to combine the incomes of other people in the house to meet the guidelines if needed. As for including your children. They are only your dependants so they just need to be counted once either on your form or if you go with your dad as the sponsor and they are living in the same house with you and your dad then they would be his dependants by extension. If your dad is doing it as the sole contributor in the house then a lot depends on if you still live in the same residence or not.

bottom line is it is way too early to stress for this one (there are plenty of other things to stress about first:p). It can be confusing but it sounds like you have the income requirements covered, it is just a matter of getting the right information on the right forms.
