i-864 question

I was unemployed for most of 2010, so my income for last year was well below what's needed to sponsor someone. However, I currently have a steady, full time job (as of early September last year) and my yearly income from this job does allow me to sponsor someone. If I file i-864, how will they determine if I have enough income to sponsor him? Will not having made enough last year mean I'm denied?

I'm in exactly the same position, and I'm curious as well. I was preparing a co-sponsor just in case, but I'd like to know if anyone out there had a similar situation and how theirs worked out?

I should add that although I meet the income requirements now, it's not by at all a large margin. I'll likely be preparing a co-sponsor just in case as well..... but still really want to know whether I'd run into issues on my own.

as long as your current income meets the requirement, you should be fine, but you will need to establish that by providing pay stubs and employment letter
